Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, decried his team's lack of discipline in Champions League matches after they lost a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 at Galatasaray on Wednesday.

Having won just one of their first five games, the English behemoths are in danger of being eliminated at the group stage.

To advance to round 16, United must defeat German champion Bayern Munich at home in their final Group A match and hope other outcomes go their way.

However, the Red Devils' entire campaign has been a story of lost chances.

They let a two-goal lead slip in a 4-3 loss to FC Copenhagen earlier this month, and they led Galatasaray twice at home before losing 3-2 in October.

United led 2-0 in Istanbul in just twenty minutes thanks to a spectacular goal from Fernandes; an hour later, they led 3-1.

But two costly mistakes by goalie Andre Onana allowed Hakim Ziyech free kicks to cut Galatasaray's lead, and Kerem Akturkoglu gave them a point.

"It's too bad, honestly," Fernandes told TNT Sports. "What we have been doing in the Champions League is not enough; we must control our games.

"It's not the first time, even Copenhagen. I understand we had one player less, but we scored the 3-2 and must secure the result.

"We have to understand these types of games, these stages; you have to be smart enough and manage the game better.

"Everyone has to step up and take responsibility of their own mistakes."
