According to team officials, Nigerian star Victor Osimhen is doubtful about Wednesday's Africa Cup of Nations semi-final against South Africa in Bouake.

Osimhen, a Napoli striker, did not travel to Bouake on Monday with the rest of the team because of stomach pain, according to a statement released by Super Eagles spokesperson Babafemi Raji.

"Team medics confirmed that he has been placed under close watch with a member of the medical team staying behind in Abidjan with him," the statement read.

The team left Abidjan on Monday night without the reigning African Player of the Year having trained.

Osimhen was replaced late in the weekend's quarterfinal matchup versus Angola.

Throughout the tournament, the 25-year-old has assisted and scored goals.
