After being forced out of Atletico Madrid's 1-0 loss to Sevilla on Sunday due to a knee injury, the Spanish international striker Alvaro Morata will not be available for the remainder of the season.

The striker, who has played 2,216 minutes and 19 goals this season, was forced off the field after a challenge at the end of the first half. As the club's medical staff performed a preliminary assessment, the forward was seen sobbing in agony and frustration.

This ruled out a torn cruciate knee ligament, which would have ended Morata's season. As Atletico started their comeback, he was spotted walking around without crutches. But the team has acknowledged that he has a "twisted knee with trauma."

Additional tests conducted on Monday revealed that Morata will be sidelined for at least three weeks due to a twisted internal ligament.

This implies that the striker will miss his team's games against Las Palmas, Almeria, Betis, Cadiz, and possibly FC Barcelona in La Liga. He will also miss their Champions League last-16 match against Inter Milan and the away leg of their Copa del Rey semifinal against Athletic Club Bilbao, where they must overcome a 1-0 first-leg deficit.
