Arsenal is preparing for a Champions League match against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, which could decide the team's fate this season. However, there are still questions about the team's ability to handle pressure following their devastating Premier League loss to Aston Villa.

Mikel Arteta's side suffered a 2-0 defeat on Sunday, a result that dredged up bitter memories from the previous season when they led the league for a significant portion before stumbling in the final stretch, allowing Manchester City to overtake them.

Since City is currently leading the pack and is the favorite to win the top division for an unprecedented fourth time in a row, long-suffering supporters fear the worst again.

Arsenal's first league loss of 2024 at the Emirates felt even more devastating after Liverpool's crushing defeat to Crystal Palace earlier in the day severely damaged the Anfield team's title hopes.

Prior to the setback on Sunday, the Gunners had left a lasting impression, proving their mettle with a blend of flair and determination. They embarked on a remarkable streak, securing 10 victories in 11 Premier League encounters.

The only setback during that run of events was a hard-fought draw at Etihad Stadium in City, which was considered a positive development in and of itself.

With little time to recover, Arsenal—who has never won the Champions League—will now head to Bayern's house to make it to their first competition semifinal since 2009. The first leg at the Emirates last week finished 2-2.

Usually, Arteta's team would be overwhelming favorites against the six-time European champions. Still, Bayern is in a unique position as they adjust to Bayer Leverkusen's overthrow of them after an 11-year reign in the German Bundesliga.
