Kylian Mbappe will be officially introduced as a Real Madrid player at the Santiago-Bernabeu stadium next Tuesday, the Spanish club announced. This news comes less than 24 hours after the former Paris Saint-Germain star and the French national team were eliminated from Euro 2024 by Spain in the semi-finals.

Mbappe, set to wear the number 9 shirt, will be presented at the Bernabeu at midday (1000 GMT) on Tuesday. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will welcome him for the signing of his five-year contract, the club revealed on Wednesday.

The French captain had a challenging Euro 2024, hampered by a broken nose sustained in France's opening match against Austria. He missed a late chance to equalize in the 2-1 defeat to Spain on Tuesday.

Mbappe's first competitive game for the Spanish and European champions is scheduled for the weekend of August 17/18, when Real Madrid begin their La Liga defense against Real Mallorca. His Bernabeu debut will follow a week later when Madrid host promoted Real Valladolid.

Joining Real Madrid as a free agent, Mbappe will reportedly earn an annual salary of 15 million euros ($16.2 million), with additional bonuses amounting to over 100 million euros.
