After losing 1-0 against Kakamega Homeboyz in their round of 16 matches on Sunday at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, Gor Mahia was eliminated from the FKF Cup.

In the 56th minute, Moses Mudavadi scored the game-winning goal after Gad Matthews was fooled by his deflected shot.

Homeboyz joined Tusker, Sofapaka, and Ulinzi Stars in making it to the competition's quarterfinals, thanks to their victory on Saturday.

Four other matches will be played on Sunday to determine the remaining four of the eight quarter-finalists.

The day had few goal opportunities, and the FKF Premier League's top scorer Benson Omalla missed a clear chance early in the second half.

Jonathan Mckinstry, the head coach of Gor Mahia, expressed his extreme disappointment in the outcomes.

"It was a really close and competitive game, and while the results are disappointing, a draw would have been fair for us," the team said.

Patrick Odhiambo, the strategist for Kakamega Homeboyz, expressed his happiness at the victory and credited the team's management for helping the players put in a strong effort.
