The national women's football squad, the Harambee Starlets, has stepped up practice in preparation for an international exhibition game against Albania on April 11 in Tiran.

All local players are available, and the team has been in camp at the Kasarani Stadium for the last three days. Later this week, their overseas colleagues are anticipated to join them.

Defender Phoebe Owiti, who currently plays for Turkish club Hakkarigucu Spor, expressed her joy at being called to the national team in an interview with Citizen Digital. She also noted that the group was prepared for the test against Albania.


"I'm overjoyed to have been called up as one of the players. It's nice to see competitive football returning after a very long absence, and we want to excel in Tirana," she remarked. According to the mood in our camp, I do not doubt that we will prevail even if we know less about them than they do about us.

Midfielder Janet Moraa Bundi of the Vihiga Queens mirrored Phoebe's comments.


"Our solid technical bench is incredibly encouraging for us players. I'm confident that we'll perform an excellent job and bring honour to Kenya. I ask our supporters to stick with us.
