Ferdinand Omanyala, the African 100m champion, will run in the Athletics South Africa ASA Grand Prix 1 on April 12, one of five races scheduled for the Commonwealth Games champion in April and May.

ASA will have the opportunity to see the country's best track and field, road running, race walking, and cross-country athletes compete in other regions.

The continental tour challenger is expected to aid competitors in preparing for more significant competitions this year, such as the World Athletics Championships, held in Budapest, Hungary, from August 19 to August 29.

Omanyala will also compete in the ASA Grand Prix 2 in Gimeston, South Africa, on April 19.

Omanyala, who broke the 10-second barrier in Austria in 2021 with a new personal best of 9.86 seconds, will compete at the Botswana Grand Prix on April 29.

The event will take place at Gaborone's National Stadium.

The Atlanta City Games are scheduled for June 6 in the United States, and Omanyala wishes to participate.

Four of the world's best hurdlers have already been added to the first Adidas Atlanta City Games program.

On March 29, meet organizers confirmed that reigning World Champions Grant Holloway, Tobi Amusan, World Silver Medalist Trey Cunningham, and Olympic Silver Medalist Kendra Harrison will compete.

Omanyala will lead a strong field in the Kip-Keino classic in Nairobi on May 13.
