On Sunday, the FKF Premier League match involving Kakamega Homeboyz and AFC Leopards was called off due to a chaotic pitch takeover in Kakamega County.
Irate Leopards fans came onto the pitch late in the first half to dispute a refereeing decision, with the hosts Homeboyz leading 1-0 at the Bukhungu Stadium.
The Homeboyz goalie Farouk Shikhalo was not penalized by the centre referee when he purportedly handled the ball beyond his box, provoking discontent and eventually inciting the invasion.
Leopards manager Patrick Aussems was among those enraged by the decision.

"We came all the way for three points, but it's disappointing that the officials were partial and the security was extremely poor, given that this was always likely to be a tense match," Shikanda explained.
Kakamega governor Fernandez Barasa, who had come to see the well-attended match, denounced the violence and warned match officials not to make foolish decisions.
