Faith Kipyegon of Kenya set a new world record in the women's 1500m at the Florence Diamond League on Friday, clocking three minutes and 49.11 seconds.
The 29-year-old Kenyan beat Ethiopia's Genzebe Dibaba's previous mark of 3:50.07 in Monaco in 2015.
"I'm overjoyed and overjoyed; I didn't expect this." "I was expecting a world lead, not a world record, but I'm overjoyed," Kipyegon told RAI.
