Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has agreed to become Tottenham’s new manager on a two-year contract.

The Australian, 57, has just ended his second season with Celtic, leading them to the Scottish title both years and the domestic triple this term.

Spurs have been looking for a new manager since Antonio Conte’s left in March, with Cristian Stellini and subsequently Ryan Mason taking interim charge.

Born in Athens, Ange Postecoglou arrived at Celtic in 2021 with limited European experience, having previously managed Greek lower league team Panachaiki in 2008. Prior to his appointment, he achieved success in Australia, winning domestic titles with South Melbourne and Brisbane Roar, as well as securing the top spot in Japan's premier league with Yokohama F Marinos. Notably, he guided the Australian national team to victory in the 2015 Asian Cup.

Postecoglou now takes charge of a Tottenham side that concluded the Premier League season in eighth place and faces the prospect of a campaign without European football for the first time since 2009-10.

Since the firing of Mauricio Pochettino in 2019, he replaces Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo, and Conte as the London club's fourth permanent manager.

Since his arrival in Scotland in the summer of 2021, Postecoglou has won five out of a potential six titles, reinstating Celtic as the dominant force in the nation.

He acknowledged that, with Celtic having just finished 25 points behind Rangers, he was viewed as a "joke" when he took over.

But he joins Jock Stein, Martin O'Neill, Brendan Rodgers, and Neil Lennon as the only five managers to give Celtic a domestic sweep.

Postecoglou gained a lot of popularity among Celtic supporters thanks to his aggressive recruiting style and game.
