Juventus defeated AC Milan 4-3 on penalties following their preseason match on Thursday in Carson, California, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
The two Serie A powerhouses played at Dignity Health Sports Park, the Los Angeles Galaxy's home stadium, for an exhilarating hour until both teams made multiple substitutions and the game stalled.

Theo Hernandez floated in a free kick from deep, and German defender Malick Thiaw rose brilliantly in the box to head Milan ahead in the 23rd minute.
Ten minutes later, Juve equalized when Danilo scored after a scramble in front of the goal.
The experienced French striker Olivier Giroud struck a well-placed volley on the turn in the 39th minute after Thiaw nodded a Christian Pulisic corner towards him.

Daniele Rugani flicked on Federico Chiesa's free-kick into the box and took a small deflection off Giroud on its way into the goal as Juve fought back once more.
After then, both teams made a flurry of substitutes, mostly using reserves and young players, and the game's quality and intensity gradually diminished.
As a part of the summer's "Soccer Champions Tour," the match was settled by a penalty shootout, which Massimiliano Allegri's team won thanks to three saves from Juve's backup goalkeeper Carlo Pinsoglio.

Both clubs play elite Spanish opponents to close up their tours: Juve plays Real Madrid in Orlando on Wednesday, while Milan plays Barcelona on Tuesday in Las Vegas.
