Brazilian Under-20 international Matheus Franca is expected to join Crystal Palace from Flamengo for an estimated £26 million.
The 19-year-old underwent a physical with the Eagles this week after being monitored by Palace for some time.
For Flamengo, Franca made 29 appearances this season and scored three goals.
The 30-year-old talisman Wilfried Zaha left the team to join Galatasaray, and Palace are hoping he will replace the vacuum he left behind.
Franca joined Brazilian side Flamengo as a youngster and progressed through their youth teams before making his senior debut in December 2021.
Playing primarily as an attacking midfielder, Franca has made 54 appearances for Flamengo in total.
In nine league contests this season, he has scored just once, putting Flamengo in second place after 17 games and 12 points behind Botafogo.
Following the free agent addition of Colombian midfielder Jefferson Lerma from Bournemouth, Franca will be Palace's second acquisition of the summer.
