On August 19th, African fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala surged into the semi-finals of the 100m at the World Athletics Championships held in Budapest, Hungary. He achieved this feat by running an impressive sub-10-second race, clocking in at 9.97. Omanyala finished second in his heat, narrowly trailing behind American athlete Noah Lyles, who claimed victory in the heat with a time of 9.95.

Omanyala displayed remarkable strength and a notable improvement in his start from the blocks. By the time he reached the 50m mark, he had firmly asserted his dominance in the race. At this point, he took a quick glance over his shoulder, observing Noah Lyles on the far side of the track. Omanyala, who had begun in Lane Four, noticed he had a slight lead and chose to ease up as he approached the finish line. This decision allowed Lyles, who was pursuing his third gold medal in Budapest, to secure victory in the race.

The Commonwealth Games champion is optimistic about delivering a stronger performance compared to last year in Eugene, where he arrived just three hours before his heat. During that competition, he made it as far as the semi-finals, securing a third-place finish. However, he is confident that this time around, he possesses the skills and determination required to advance to the final.
