Ferdinand Omanyala on Sunday won the men's 100m at 9.94 seconds at the Boris Hanzekovic Memorial in Zagreb.

Omanyala was in control from halfway and won with Jamaica's Oblique Seville - who finished fourth at last month's Budapest World Championships - second in 10.07.

Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs, approaching the conclusion of yet another season hampered by injuries, was closely behind in third place in 10.08.

Brandon Carnes, who won the sprint relay world championship, came in fourth in 10.27, followed by Abdul Hakim Sani Brown of Japan in 10.29.

Omanyala, the reigning Commonwealth Games champion, is coming off of his most outstanding season to date and is looking forward to the Diamond League Finals in Eugene, Oregon, the following weekend.

Later, behind fellow American Kyree King, who ran the 200 meters in 20.10, Carnes came in second.
