Manchester United winger Antony Santos has decided to postpone his return to the club in order "to address allegations" of violence leveled against him.

The 23-year-old was set to return to training on Monday after being left out of Brazil's World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Peru.

However, United has agreed with the player to postpone his return until further notice to rectify the issue.

Antony rejects all of the charges.

"Manchester United acknowledges the allegations made against Antony," the club said in a statement.

"Players who did not compete in international matches are scheduled to return to training on Monday."

"As a club, we condemn violence and abuse." We recognize the significance of protecting all persons engaged in this circumstance and the impact these allegations have on abuse survivors."

Following charges of domestic assault against his former fiancée, police have launched an inquiry.

He is also facing more assault charges made by a lady in an interview with a Brazilian television program.

On Friday, Antony appeared on Brazilian television, insisting, "I never attacked any woman," promising that "the truth will come out."

"I have agreed with Manchester United to take a period of absence while I address the allegations made against me," he said in a statement on Sunday.

"This was a mutual decision to keep my teammates from being distracted and to avoid unnecessary controversy for the club."

"I want to reiterate my innocence of the charges against me, and I will fully cooperate with the police to help them find the truth." I hope to return to the field as soon as possible."

Antony is accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin "with a headbutt" in a Manchester hotel room on January 15, leaving her with a cut head that required medical attention.

She claims she was also punched in the chest, which damaged a silicone breast implant and necessitated corrective surgery.

Regarding Cavallin's claims, Antony previously stated on social media, "I can calmly state that the accusations are false and that the evidence already produced and the other evidence that will be produced demonstrate that I am innocent of the accusations made."

Ingrid Lana, a 33-year-old banker, also said in a video obtained by Brazil's Record TV that Antony "pushed her against a wall" at his Manchester home in October 2022.

Both Greater Manchester Police and Sao Paulo Police are investigating the claims.

Antony did not participate during the international break after the Brazilian football federation said he had been removed from their squad due to "public facts" that "need to be investigated."
