Marco Verratti signed for Qatari Al Arabi, his new club and previous squad, Paris Saint-Germain, announced on Wednesday.

Al Arabi shared a video on social media with the midfielder dressed in club colors.PSG, owned by Qatar, praised Verratti for his 11 years at the club.

Verratti "played a significant role in our great history," according to club president Nasser al-Khelaifi.

"Paris, the club, and its fans will always hold a special place in my heart." "I will always be a Parisian," Verratti said.

Verratti, 30, has been plagued by injuries. He also has a shaky disciplinary record for PSG, having received 141 yellow cards and six red cards.

Last season, he made 29 Ligue 1 appearances due to suspensions and injuries, although that was the most since he played 32 games in 2014-15.

PSG received no real proposals for Verratti from any of Europe's major teams, maybe due to his high wage. French media believes the transfer should bring PSG to 50 million euros.

Verratti won nine French league crowns, the French Cup six times, and the European Championship with Italy in 2021.

Following a summer in which the Saudi Arabian League attracted big-name players, including Verratti's former PSG teammate Neymar, who joined Al Hilal in Riyadh, the Italian is the second star to transfer to Qatar in less than a week.

Philippe Coutinho, a Brazilian attacker, joined Al Duhail on a season-long loan from Aston Villa on Friday.
