Former Leeds United forward Rodrigo Moreno, now playing for Al Rayyan, showed his generosity by presenting St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale midfielder Joseph Omuse with a gift. This touching gesture came to fruition after Rodrigo learned about Joseph's challenging past on the streets of Bungoma town. The young player's inspiring tale of overcoming adversity emerged just a fortnight ago during the national school games in Kakamega, where he played a crucial role in leading the Solidarity Boys to a national championship.

Joseph Mukolwe, the guardian who rescued him from the streets, shared the remarkable journey of the youngster's transformation from a malnourished, homeless child to a rapidly emerging football sensation.

This narrative resonated deeply with people both within and beyond the borders, catching the attention of Spanish international Moreno. Moreno, who recently made a move from Leeds United to Al Rayyan, has now generously provided the player with boots valued at just over KES 100,000, which are currently en route from Doha.

“Hi Omuse, I am Rodrigo from Al Rayyan, and I just want to say congratulations for your call-up to the team (St. Anthony’s Boys). I just sent you boots from Qatar, and I hope you enjoy them. All the best,” the Spanish international said in a short video.

The player, in turn, conveyed his heartfelt thanks to the former standout of Leeds United, Real Madrid, Valencia, Bolton Wanderers, and Benfica.
“Hey Rodrigo, I am grateful for the boots. As you know, I am a total orphan, and this means a lot to me. May God bless you for this,” the youngster said.
At the recently finished East African School Games in Rwanda, Omuse scored three goals, but sadly, the Solidarity Boys, like other Kenyan boys' schools, were eliminated in the group stage.
