According to the latest Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA), monthly review a liter of super petrol will remain the same at Kes 217.36 in Nairobi for the next month until December 14.

On October 14, EPRA increased the petrol price by Kes 5.72.

However, a liter of petrol could have risen to Kes 229.37 if the government had compensated for the extra margin of Kes 12.01 using the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL).

Announcing X, formerly Twitter, EPRA stated that to cushion consumers from the spike in pump prices due to the increased landed costs, the Government has opted to stabilize pump prices for the November-December 2023 pricing cycle.

“The National Treasury has identified resources within the current resource envelope to compensate Oil marketing Companies.”

Likewise, a liter of diesel and kerosene has also dropped to Kes 203.47 and Kes 203.06.

Currently, a liter of diesel retails at Kes 205.47 and Kes 204.46 for kerosene.

This is a relief for motorists and Kenyans complaining of high fuel prices that have pushed the cost of doing business.
