Safaricom Plc board has recommended a Kes 0.55 interim dividend payout totaling Kes 23 billion to shareholders for the year ending March 31, 2024.

This is compared to the Kes 0.58 payout announced by the telecommunication company in a similar period last year.

“The Board of Safaricom is pleased to announce that at its meeting held in February 2024, it resolved to approve the payments of interim dividends of Kes 0.55 per ordinary share amounting to Kes 23 Billion for the year ending March 31, 2024,” the telco said in a statement.

All stockholders are set to get their payments on or about March 31, 2024.

According to the telco, the decision on the payment of the dividends was undertaken during the firm’s board meeting held on February 21, 2024, after approval by Capital Markets.

“The Interim dividends will be payable to shareholders on the Register of Members as at the close of business on March 15, 2024, and will be paid on or about March 31, 2024.”
