The New Kenya Co-operative Creameries (New KCC) has re-advertised the position of its Managing Director (MD) to overhaul the dairy sector.
The re-advertisement follows Wycliffe Oparanya's recent appointment as Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
“We are seeking an excellent leader with an outstanding track record in business leadership to serve as Managing Director,” read the advertisement.
“The ideal candidate should have a proven ability to deliver results, be a visionary and innovative thinker with the capacity to build a dynamic and high-performing management team.”
The new CS who has promised major reforms in the cooperative sector, has been vocal about the need for a complete overhaul, citing the large amounts of money owed to farmers as a significant issue that needs addressing.

The re-advertisement for the position is seen as a step towards streamlining the sector and ensuring that farmers receive their dues.
New KCC had initially sought a replacement for Nixon Sigey in May, whose tenure at the creamer is drawing to a close.
Despite seeking applications, the company did not shortlist candidates and has reopened the process.
Sigey first took over the position in 2015 and had his mandate renewed in 2018.
