The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced that the prices of super petrol, diesel, and kerosene will remain unchanged from last month. The announcement, made on Thursday, confirms that the new pricing will be effective from November 15 to December 14.
In October, prices saw reductions of Ksh.8.18 for super petrol, Ksh.3.54 for diesel, and Ksh.6.93 for kerosene per litre. Under the current rates, a litre of super petrol in Nairobi will cost Ksh.180.66, diesel Ksh.168.06, and kerosene Ksh.151.39.
In Mombasa, the prices are slightly lower, with super petrol priced at Ksh.177.42, diesel at Ksh.164.82, and kerosene at Ksh.148.45 per litre. Meanwhile, in Kisumu, super petrol will retail at Ksh.180.68, diesel at Ksh.168.44, and kerosene at Ksh.151.82 per litre.
EPRA Director-General Daniel Kiptoo Bargoria noted changes in the average landed costs of imported fuel. The cost of super petrol rose by 0.54%, from USD 637.70 per cubic metre in September to USD 641.14 in October. On the other hand, diesel costs decreased by 4.34%, from USD 636.22 per cubic metre to USD 608.61.
