On Monday, WhatsApp Web, Meta's browser-based messaging platform, suffered a major outage, leaving users unable to connect to servers or send and receive messages.

The disruption began early in the day and escalated as time passed, causing significant inconvenience for personal and business users globally.

According to Downdetector, a platform that tracks online service disruptions, the issue primarily affected WhatsApp's web interface across all browsers. About 57% of users reported problems specifically with WhatsApp Web, while 34% experienced outages affecting the app overall.

It remains unclear whether WhatsApp’s mobile versions, including those on Android and iOS, were impacted by the outage.
