Dong Won Lee has been appointed the new Regional Managing Director of LG Electronics for East Africa to drive growth.
The new MD is replacing Sa Nyoung Kim. Kim has been the LG's Regional Managing Director for the last three years.
Before his appointment as the new MD, Lee served as Iraq’s LG MD since 2019 and was credited for driving up sales by 50 per cent.
Lee said that the region has a high economic potential and is committed to ensuring the company keeps offering customer value to achieve customer satisfaction.
Additionally, he said he will work closely with all the teams to spearhead success for the company and its consumers.
The new MD has more than twenty years of experience and knowledge in performance improvement, leadership, and marketing in the consumer electronics industry.
He will also lead LG East Africa’s operations apart from working closely with regional leadership to develop and implement strategies.
Further, he will mid-entry models for volume zones in East Africa including Kenya and strengthen LG's differentiated premium products to attain sustainable growth.
LG, a subsidiary of LG Corp, produces consumer electronics and home appliances.
Televisions, monitors, personal computers, refrigerators, audio, beauty, and video equipment, washing machines, dishwashers, air purifiers, dehumidifiers, home and business air conditioners, and vacuum cleaners are among the company's product offerings.
Additionally, it provides solar panels, cellphones, information displays, motor and sensor components, equipment manufacture, optic solutions, automotive components, camera modules, substrates, and materials.
LG Electronics also has a presence across the Americas, the Middle East, Asia, and the Pacific. Seoul, Republic of Korea, serves as the corporate headquarters for LG Electronics.
