Glovo has announced delivering 135,000 pizzas in Nairobi in 2020, citing the rising demand for products in Kenya.

According to the data from the Spanish delivery company, more than 120,000 pizzas were delivered between February 2022 and February 2023 in Nairobi.

In a statement by the firm on International Pizza day February, 9, Glovo noted that chicken-flavoured pizza received the most orders with more than 15,000 deliveries, followed by Margarita and Pepperoni.

However, the company observed that pork and beef pizzas are less popular in the Country than in Ghana.

"Glovo delivered 15 pizzas per hour or 370 pizzas per day ," Glovo said.

Further, the Spanish delivery company noted that the 'buy one get one free' offer on Tuesdays boosted the highest pizza consumption by 33 per cent, followed by Sundays at 17 per cent.

The offers provide their clients 2 in 1 deals increasing the orders they get on offer days.

Glovo Kenya General Manager Caroline Mutuku stated that the company has partnered with key outlets that sell pizza to enhance the growth of the delivery industry in the Country.

The partners are Pizza Mojo, Pizza hut, and Debonairs.

"More customers prefer making their orders online, as seen in the number of pizza deliveries we made in the last twelve months," she said.

Nairobi and Mombasa were the two top cities with the highest pizza consumption.

 Glovo is a Spanish delivery company that connects customers, couriers and businesses.

To improve the multi-category service, which includes restaurants, groceries, pharmacies, beverages, flowers, and Kibanda and is delivered to clients' doorsteps in 40 minutes, Glovo partners with nearly 4,000 companies across Kenya.

In a recent report by the delivery company, many Kenyans also prefer ordering from local street food shops and Kibandas.

Glovo is present in Nairobi, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu, Mombasa, Kitengela, Ruiru, Thika, Ngong, Rongai, Karen and Syokimau.
