Who, Then, Is The True Owner?

Current sources claim that Lei Cheng, previously believed to be the store's sole owner, only owns 1% of the real estate.

Fujian Festar Holding Ltd owns the remaining 99% of the store. Data from the firm registration (CR12) papers that NTV got indicate this. Lian Feng, who owns 60% of this corporation, and Chen Xiuhua, who owns 40%, are the two directors.

Both of the filmmakers are of Chinese descent.

A source with expertise in the matter claims that the firm's registration, Fijian is a Kenyan-registered company, and the company, not the individual, is regarded as China Square's director.

The two persons registered the business in Kenya on July 25, 2022. About a month later, on August 19, 2022, China Square Ltd was founded.

Despite suspicions, this calls into doubt the company's ties to a Kenyan.

The Anti-Counterfeit Authority (ACA) investigation into a case involving KES 50 million worth of items from the store is presently underway. The products are said to be counterfeit and violate intellectual property.

Kenyan business owners have protested the mall disagreement at the vice president's office. They contend that the influx of Chinese entrepreneurs has harmed their sector.

Lei Cheng and the Kenya Chinese Chamber of Commerce (KCCC) have defended the enterprise as legal.

The Chamber of Commerce also emphasized the significant economic advantages of China Square. They include the development of jobs and the supply of reasonably priced, high-quality goods for Kenyans. Many Kenyans have been protesting the mall's closing today, claiming it was beneficial.

China Square is currently facing challenges in Kenya from the government and small-scale traders who, on Wednesday, took to the streets of Nyamakima to protest against the existence of the newly opened China Square.
