Equity has announced a Kes4 dividend payout for each ordinary share on the issued and paid-up share capital of the Company for the financial year ended 31 to shareholders.

The group noted that the dividend will be paid out on or before June 30, 2023, to the members of the Company on the share register on the closure date of 19th May 2023 upon shareholders' approval.

“The Board of Directors has recommended a dividend of Kenya Shillings four (Kes 4.00), December 2022,” the Group said in its audited financial statement.

This comes after the Group posted a Kes46.1 billion net profit for the financial year ending December 31, 2022.

It attributed the growth to higher earnings in the Kenyan unit.

Further, the growth represented a 15 per cent year-on-year growth compared to the Kes40.1 billion that was posted in a similar period in 2021.

 Equity Group, managing director and Chief Executive Officer James Mwangi noted that out of Kes46.1 billion, the Kenyan unit contributed Kes33.4 billion, representing a percentage share of 73 per cent.

“Equity Group has reported a record Profit Before Tax of Kes 59.8B, and Profit After Tax of Kes 46.1B, a 15% year-on-year growth,” he said.
