The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) Board has confirmed Joe Sang as the new Managing Director (MD) for a 4-year, renewable term.
KPC Board Chairperson Faith Boinett announced that Sang emerged as the best applicant.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors of Kenya Pipeline Company Ltd (KPC), I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Joe Sang as the Managing Director after emerging top in the just concluded recruitment process,” she said.
Further, she noted that Sang’s contract will be for a new term of four years, renewable, and subject to performance.
The Employment and Labour Relations Court suspended the appointment of Sang in an acting capacity, directing an insider to assume the position in February this year.

It came barely a month after Attorney General (AG) Justin Muturi approved his selection in January.
For his part, the AG said there was no law barring the appointment of an acting MD from outside KPC.
Sang took over from Samson Macharia Irungu, whose term ended in February after the Board failed to renew his contract after he exhausted his three-year term.
Previously, Sang worked with WHO-KEMRI as a project economist, a financial accountant with the National Oil Corporation of Kenya (NOCK), and a management accountant with Unga Limited.
He also served as head of finance for East African Breweries Limited (EABL), head of group performance and reporting for EABL Group, general manager of finance and strategy at KPC, and MD in April 2016.
Sang holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Management, both from the University of Nairobi.
Moreover, he is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the Institute of Public Certified Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
