The Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) is set to educate consumers on the effects of illicit beer on their social, economic, and health progression.
KBL Managing Director Mark Ocitti noted that the organisation will partner with various business partners and key stakeholders to achieve the sensitization.
“We are committed to making a positive difference in people’s lives through this campaign and future ones,” said Ocitti.
The initiative comes at a time when there have been concerns over illicit brews in the country raised by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua declaring that nobody would be spared in the war against illegal alcohol and drug abuse.

The DP lamented that illicit brews have demolished the family structure, leading to a declining number of children joining early childhood education.
“We shall not rest until we decisively deal with alcohol and substance abuse to save our youth, to save our family, and bring back our dignity, we can’t let this continue further. That is why the candid discussion today is key towards a lasting solution.”
Further, he said that more consultative forums will be held nationwide, including in Nakuru, Mombasa, Kakamega, and Embu.
He said after unveiling a Kes97 million campaign dubbed ‘Jipe Form Na Senator Ushinde’ to reward consumers and drive its sustainability agenda.
“Through initiatives such as these, we are scaling up our commitment to promoting social sustainability and economic empowerment of our communities,” said Ocitti.
The campaign will see five winners win Kes2 million each. Each winner will receive Kes1 million to invest in their personal growth and another Kes1 million to be donated to a community of their choice.
Additionally, 20 consumers will receive monthly home makeovers, 12,000 winners will receive weekly shopping vouchers, and a whopping 1,980,000 winners will receive daily Cash and airtime vouchers.
