Polycarp Igathe has been appointed as the Chief Growth Officer of a South African-based company- Tiger brands, effective 1st January 2023.

Before joining British petroleum company Vivo Energy, he had served as the managing director of Tiger Brands East Africa business.

According to a statement by the company, Igathe brings strong commercial capability, marketing, sales, strategy and business leadership experience through multi-geography leadership roles across Africa.

I look forward to the diverse set of capabilities and knowledge of the continent that Polycarp will bring to driving the execution of our ambitious growth strategy for the Rest of Africa," the company said.

Igathe has served in top leadership positions at Coca-Cola, Kenya Breweries, Haco Industries Limited and Equity Bank.

This comes three months after he unsuccessfully vied for the Nairobi gubernatorial race
He also held the position of Nairobi deputy governor, where he lost to the incumbent, Johnson Sakaja.
