Safaricom has announced the appointment of Anthony Gacanja as its new network director, effective June 19, 2023.
Gacanja joins Safaricom from the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), where he served as Director of Information Technology.
Gacanja will report to the Chief Technology and Information Officer in his new role and will be responsible for designing, building, rolling, performing, and enhancing all network infrastructure.
“His primary focus will be delivering superior service to Safaricom customers. He will also be responsible for managing the delivery of existing Information System Services and implementing new systems,” Safaricom said in a statement.
Gacanja has over twenty years of experience in software development, information risk assurance, cyber security, and information technology governance and operations.
