South African firm, Multichoice has increased all its Gotv and DStv packages amid rising inflation and currency depreciation.
Multichoice has increased charges for Dstv Premium from Sh3,500 currently to Sh3,900 from August 1.
DStv Compact Plus, DStv Compact, DStv Family, and DStv Access will now go for Kes 6,200, Kes 3,500, Kes 1,850, and Kes 1,500, respectively, from Kes 5,900, Kes 3,300, Kes 1,750, and Kes 1,250.
Gotv Max Bouquet will rise to Kes 1,899 from Kes 1,749, and Gotv SUPA Bouquet will rise from Kes 1,349 to Kes 1,449.
“Please note that MultiChoice will implement a price adjustment on some of their DStv & GOtv packages effective 1 August 2023,” MultiChoice said.
The latest Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) data showed that inflation in the country stood at 7.9 per cent in June.
Meanwhile, Kenya’s currency has depreciated against the US Dollar to above Kes 140.
