US automaker Tesla has nearly doubled its deliveries in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, with 466,140 deliveries representing an 83 per cent increase.

This increase represents a 10 per cent rises from the previous quarter.

From April to June, the Texas-based electric vehicle giant produced 479,700 cars — an 85 per cent increase compared to the second quarter in 2022.

That increases Tesla's total output by the middle of this year to 920,508, exceeding industry observers' forecasts and putting the company well on its way to achieving its target of producing 1.8 million cars by 2023.

“Price cuts implemented early in 2023 have paid major dividends for Musk & Co. as demand appears to remain very strong and production efficiencies have allowed for the massive deliveries,” analysts from Wedbush Securities wrote in a note to clients.
