LG has launched its first commercial laundry shop in Mombasa to tap the growing demand for laundry services among locals.

The electronics company said a rise in the middle class and urbanization have pushed up demand for professional laundry services in the county, attracting investors.

Speaking during the launch, LG East Africa Managing Director(MD) Dangwon Lee stated that growing reliance on laundromats as a convenient and time-saving solution presents an exceptional opportunity for investors to establish highly profitable ventures.

“Today’s consumers value convenience and quality, and by investing in the commercial laundry sector, entrepreneurs can cater to these demands while providing top-notch services.”

The laundry shop in Mombasa can hold between 10.5 and 15 kilograms of laundry targeting hospitality, healthcare and care homes, multi-housing, schools and universities, and public service sectors.

The company started the pilot scheme three years ago and says over 100 laundromats have been installed nationwide.
