WhatsApp Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Mark Zuckerberg has announced introducing the ability to share screens on Whatsapp during video calls.
Speaking on Tuesday on Meta, Zuckerberg said it is similar to what legacy video-conferencing platforms like Google Meet, Microsoft Meet and Zoom have been offering.
Screen sharing will be used for “sharing documents for work, browsing photos with family, planning a vacation or shopping online with friends, or just helping grandparents with tech support,” Zuckerberg said.
Beginning on Tuesday, the feature began to gradually roll out globally on Android, iOS, and Windows Desktop.
The function, accessed by selecting the "Share" icon during a video call, was made available to a select group of WhatsApp Beta testers in May.

In addition, users can share a single app or their entire screen, much like on other video conferencing systems.
WhatsApp has begun supporting landscape mode to improve the screen-sharing experience during video calls.
