DStv, MultiChoice Group’s broadcast service, has been named this year's third Most Admired African brand.

Africa’s Best Brands survey has named MultiChoice Group broadcast service, DStv the Most Admired African brand for 2023.

The 13th Brand Africa 100 recognises brands preferred by African consumers across the continent.

 Most Admired African Brands, Top African Pride Brands, Most Admired Finance Brands, Most Admired Media Brands, and the Most Admired Brands in Africa are covered.

The survey's findings, produced independently by Brand Africa partners in Q1 2023, were based on information gathered from 32 nations, which comprise up to 85% of Africa's GDP and population.

When all domestic and foreign companies are counted, DStv comes in at number 40 among the Most Admired companies in Africa, trailing only MTN at number one, Safaricom/M-Pesa at number 14, Dangote at number 27, and Zambia's Trade Kings at number 27.

DStv emerged as Africa's most admired media brand, beating out international behemoths BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera, and NTV and reiterating its dominance of the continent's media scene.

In the top African Pride Brands category, DStv was named the fourth African brand after Dangote, Ethiopian Airlines and MTN, respectively.
