The Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) has confirmed John Okwiri as the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) after serving in the post in an acting capacity for 10 months.

He replaces John Tanui, Ministry of Information and Communication, and the Digital Economy Permanent Secretary (PS).

His key responsibility will be to provide Konza Technopolis with strategic leadership so that it may become a center for innovation and

 a worldwide technopolis.

He is credited with establishing the Kenya Advance Institute of Science and Technology and effectively completing Konza Phase 1 Horizontal Infrastructure.

Similarly, the new CEO allocated resources for the construction of Tier 3 National Data Center.

In addition to securing the 41st International Association of Science Parks (IAPS) 2024 Conference for Konza Technopolis, others are changing Kenya's cloud infrastructure and data center services.

Okwiri holds an MBA in procurement and supply chain management from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Commerce in accounting.

He is also a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS-UK) and the Kenya Institute of Supplies and Management (MKISM).

Besides, John is a certified FIDIC Dispute Adjudication Board (DAB) expert.
