Over the subsequent three years, chemotherapy became a routine aspect of Jonathan's life, requiring frequent visits to the operating theatre every three weeks.
By late 2020, the tumor in the left eye ceased responding to chemotherapy, leading to a referral to India for specialized treatment.
The family effectively organized a fundraiser, allowing Jonathan to undergo brachytherapy procedures in India. However, the COVID-19 lockdown extended their stay, and it wasn't until May 2020 that the government arranged for their evacuation. Following their return, Jonathan underwent six more theatre reviews in his ongoing medical journey.
In 2023, challenges intensified for Jonathan as he grappled with fever, low blood, and platelet counts. This led to multiple admissions and tests, including bone marrow biopsies.
The most recent setback occurred on Monday, November 20, when Jonathan received a diagnosis of B-ALL Leukemia during a routine pediatrician review.
Currently, Jonathan is hospitalized, undergoing treatment with an estimated cost of Sh4.5 million.
In a prior interview with a local daily, Naomi disclosed that she is the firstborn daughter of the tele-evangelist. She was born when he was still a herdsman in Kinangop before he separated from her then-girlfriend.
