Homa Bay County police have opened an inquiry after a woman was attacked and sexually assaulted by four men in Kanyango.
On Monday night, the guys broke into the village elder's home and assaulted the 25-year-old woman, the village elder's wife. Her husband was not present at the time the crime was committed.
According to reports, the woman was sleeping with her 2-year-old daughter when the men broke into her home after midnight and committed the crime.

According to Kanyango Location Assistant Chief Samuel Nyagwara, the four demanded to know the location of the village elder.
Mr Nyagwara said they threatened to kill the woman if she attempted to raise an alarm. They stole her phone and her purse with ksh 17000.
