A teenage boy has been admitted to the Naivasha sub-county hospital after he was tortured with hot wires and water by a group of teenagers.

The boy was rescued from Mai Mahiu Centre by police and members of the public before being wheeled to the hospital.

Emotions ran high as public members, including Naivasha MP Jane Kihara, demanded that all youths involved in the heinous conduct be arrested.

From his hospital bed, the teen described how the two suspects, whom he knows, tormented him for three days to "initiate and harden him."

He described being forced to consume his vomit before being severely assaulted with a hot wire and hard things.

The child, who took his KCPE this year, described his ordeal, noting that the assailants were local adolescents he knew.

According to Kihara, the act was barbaric, and the parents of the children should be held accountable for their involvement.

Kihara stated that the newly circumcised teenager knew the perpetrators of the torture and that police should pursue and apprehend them.

After visiting the youngster in the hospital, the MP urged parents to hold the initiation ceremony at either the church or the Kikuyu council of elders.

A clinical officer, Joseph Mbugua, described the minor's condition as "serious but stable," adding that most of the wounds had been infected.

He stated that they were preparing to transport the lads to the operating room for specialized treatment of the open wounds on their bodies.
