Police officers in Chepalungu sub-county, Bomet County, have initiated an investigation after the body of a middle-aged man was found hanging from a tree.
According to Chepalungu police chief Phanton Analo, the body of Philip Kipkurui Rotich, 45, was discovered hanging from a tree in Kiptunoi village with the panga he was seen carrying earlier found thrown in a nearby bush.
According to Paul Bett, Meng'wet sub-location assistant chief, the deceased's wife told authorities that her husband left the homestead late at night to attend a fundraiser in the neighborhood, only to be informed later that he had died.
According to the chief, the father of nine children's body was discovered approximately a km from his home.
