A middle-aged man is being treated at Migori level four hospital after allegedly being hacked by a police officer assigned to the Ochuna police station in Migori County.

According to Makiasa sub-location assistant chief Vincent Otieno, the victim was in the company of other friends when he was attacked by a police officer armed with a panga.

According to Otieno, investigators are still trying to figure out why the police officer attacked the man.

According to the victim, Kings Owuor, they had a brief exchange with the police officer at the bar before he attacked him on his way home at around 11.30 p.m.

While they were still at the club, Owuor claims he confronted the officer about harassing his female friend, which enraged him.

Owuor claims he was on his way to his house with two other friends when a police officer stopped them and asked them to leave while he remained behind.

He claims that the police officers hacked him with a panga and then fled. Friends rushed him to a nearby health facility before referring him to Migori Level 4 Hospital.
