Over 20 families will be forced to spend the night outside due to a fire in Southlands, on the outskirts of Siaya.
There were no casualties.
According to witnesses, the power went out briefly at about 3 a.m. An explosion accompanied it when it returned, and flames quickly burned residences.
A fire engine came a short time later, but several houses had been destroyed.
