A 27-year-old Kenyan man has been arrested for killing a delivery truck driver in Texas.
Chrisantus Omondi was arrested on the night of January 13, 2024, when a neighborhood resident reported finding a lifeless body in the front yard of his home on Wendover Drive in Fort Worth.
The person who contacted the authorities had hired Scott Jackson to transport firewood to his home when a naked Omondi unexpectedly charged at them, saying they had trespassed on his property.
"This is my house, and I have the key right here," Omondi told CBS.
Jackson and the homeowner told Omondi to go, but he allegedly grabbed a piece of firewood and struck the delivery man in the head, knocking him out.
The culprit then switched his attention to the homeowner, punching him in the head and forcing him to flee inside his home for protection.
The homeowner then called 911 to report the event. While on the phone with authorities, Omondi continued his attack on Scott, repeatedly punching him in the head before heading to an Airbnb he had allegedly leased in the area.
When police arrived at the Airbnb, Omondi was alleged to be resistant, prompting cops to use a stun gun to subdue him before detaining and transporting him to a local hospital for evaluation.
Omondi is expected to be charged with murder, severe assault on a security officer, and obstruction of justice.
His bond has been set at about Ksh.50.4 million.
