Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officers have arrested a man for allegedly demanding a Ksh.1.5 million bribe on behalf of a Principal Secretary.
Mark Kipruto Kuto, who claimed to be the anonymous Principal Secretary's Personal Assistant, allegedly requested the bribe to persuade the government official to help the complainant become CEO of the South Nyanza Sugar Company.
According to EACC Spokesperson Eric Ngumbi, the complainant reported the incident to the anti-graft agency, which initiated an investigation.

Mr. Ngumbi stated that the suspect was arrested within the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) after accepting the money.
He is being processed at the Integrity Centre before being transported to the Kilimani Police Station, where he will be kept until arraignment.
