A middle-aged man has been stabbed to death in the Kaplemeiwet region of Kipkoiyan, Belgut sub-county, while trying to stop a fight.
According to eyewitnesses, the man was stabbed to death while attempting to rescue his mother-in-law, who was reportedly fighting with another woman over a man.
The man, who lived in rental houses on the same plot as his mother-in-law, heard the noise from the nearby rental buildings and rushed to investigate.

When he arrived at the scene, he saw his mother-in-law fighting with another woman who lived on the same plot.
Residents of the plot stated the two were arguing over a guy in an intimate relationship with the assailant. Still, they had heard rumors that the other woman was also having an affair.
An argument broke out between the two, which developed into a violent altercation.
The deceased could not see his mother-in-law being abused, so he intervened and attempted to separate the two.
After dragging his mother-in-law aside, the jilted woman pulled out a kitchen knife, meaning to attack her opponent, and aimed at her, but it penetrated the man's neck, killing him instantly.
Members of the public who were watching the fight from a distance observed that the man had been stabbed and tried to save him, but it was too late.
The attacker fled the area to an unknown destination.
The event was later reported to the Sosiot police station, and officers removed the body and transported it to the Kericho referral hospital mortuary.
