The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives have recovered several mobile phones, laptops, and tablets from repair stalls in parts of Nairobi city and its outskirts.
According to DCI, the operation conducted on March 4, 2024, prompted the upsurge in the theft of mobile phones from residents.
19 phones were confiscated in Information Shops 3A and 2B in Kamukunji areas, and 10 phones were recovered at Cianda Market shop no.426.
Three suspects,, Samuel Kang'ethe, Anthony Kamau & Kelvin Kihara, were arrested.
On the other hand, in Lang'ata's Mobihub Planet-BIHI Towers, Lynne Wambui and Paul Wainaina were arrested with 34 suspected stolen phones.

At Skydeck Technologies, 8 laptops were also seized, leading to the arrest of Brian Mwangi and Robert Thuo Mwangi.
Additionally, five suspects were arrested in Ruai and Kamulu areas, where over 182 mobile phones, a laptop, an iPad, and two heating machines were seized from three repair shops.
The shops include Free Mack Electronic Shop Kamale Mobile Repair in Ruai and Friends Communication Shop in Kamulu.
Fredrick Maina, Macnair Gedion, Robin Muturi, John Kamau Mwangi and Kelvin Kamau Njuguna were arrested.
Four other suspects were arrested in Kasarani's Githurai 44 area in a similar operation.
Meanwhile, five suspected thieves who waylaid a Matopeni area resident in Mukuru Kwa Njenga have already been prosecuted.
The five, Bethwel Kiprop, Shadrack Otwori, Edwin Ongori, Mike Sagero, and Collins Sigei are said to have robbed the resident of his jacket and an OPPO phone worth Kes 20,000.
