Many Americans express reluctance about the prospect of a Trump-Biden rematch in the upcoming election. However, those on the hopeful left shouldn't anticipate the return of a former White House occupant to throw their hat in the ring.

Speculations regarding a potential run by Michelle Obama have become widespread, prompting the former first lady's office to release a statement on Tuesday to dispel the rumors. The statement clarified, "As former First Lady Michelle Obama has reiterated several times over the years, she will not be running for president."

Obama said earlier this year on a podcast that she was "terrified about what could possibly happen" in November, presumably if former President Trump is re-elected, stoking speculation about a last-minute run on both the right and left, per the Hill and NBC News. Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene have been among those publicly floating the speculation. Her office explicitly clarified that she harbors no intention of emerging as an unexpected candidate.

"Mrs. Obama supports President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris' re-election campaign."
