Police on Wednesday arrested a wanted suspect linked to cases of violent robberies, peddling, mugging, and phone snatching in the Weitemere area of Nyeri County.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Peter Ndiritu Ndirangu alias Kimaitho, 35, was flushed from his hideout after residents tipped off officers of his whereabouts.
Kimaitho was found with 12 sachets of heroin, nine rolls of bhang, a machete, and two kitchen knives upon search.

Further, the DCI stated that he was released from prison in December 2023 but has since been implicated in various attacks reported at Weitemere, Majengo, Kiawara, and Blue Valley areas of Nyeri.
"The ex-convict has been remanded at King'ong'o prison without the option of bail following his criminal record," said DCI.
