A middle-aged security guard was brutally murdered at a wines and spirits store in Mbita Town.
42-year-old Joseph Orina was murdered after the gang stormed the wines and spirits he was guarding, known as Mesca and Sons in Mbita Town, hitting and killing him before obtaining entrance to the establishment.
Mbita Town assistant chief Wilson Makori claims the group first tied the deceased's hands with a rope before hitting his head with a blunt object, killing him on the spot.

Makori said that after killing Joseph Orina, the thugs gained admission inside the shop and grabbed over ten crates of wine, a laptop, and Ksh.7,000 in cash before fleeing.
According to the administrator, the deceased had significant injuries on the back of his skull from a blunt object used by the suspects during the night raid.
The deceased's body was taken to Kirindo Mortuary, awaiting a postmortem.
